Delay in MDU Results and Student Protests, Sparks Academic Concerns

MDU Results

Rohtak, Haryana | April 25, 2025Students at Maharshi Dayanand University (MDU), Rohtak, are increasingly concerned because of repeated delays in announcing examination results that affect thousands of students pursuing undergraduate or other postgraduate programmes.

While the academic calendar mentions that results should be announced by mid-March, results for various courses in particular arts, commerce, and science streams, are still awaited. This has made students extremely anxious about their admission into further academic programmes, job applications, and competitive examinations.

Students protesting outside the administrative block this week demanded timely clarity and action from the university officials. "We are stuck. Without results, we cannot apply for master's programmes or jobs," said final-year B.Com student Aarti Sharma.

Administrative officials argue that delays are due to technical glitches and staff shortages; however, cumulative delays for the last few years go to illustrate inefficiencies of another kind. To add salt to the wounds, the delay in announcing this year's results occurred during the time when MDU is celebrating its golden jubilee, and this has led to social media comments criticising it over misplaced priorities.

MDU is yet to make any formal announcement concerning when it will release the delayed results. Meanwhile, student unions are threatening further protests if the university does not address their concerns soon.

The recurring delays at MDU, widely regarded as one of the largest in Haryana, not only affect students at the university but also have repercussions for various affiliated colleges and institutions that work within the university's academic framework.
